Jaume "Mal" Ferrete Vazquez
works with voice and its peripheries, its uses and meanings; through formats as CD, concert, performance, workshop or website. Develops his practice in the contexts of visual arts (Museum of Contemporary Art of Barcelona; Urban Video Project, New York) education (Master of Communication and Art Critic from University of Girona, Creators in Residency, Barcelona) performance arts and music (LEM Festival, Antic Teatre, Barcelona; Poetas por Km2, Madrid). His work has been recognized with grants, prizes and residencies as that of the Culture Department of the Generalitat de Catalunya; Matadero, Madrid; Helsinki International Artists in Residency; Vessel Art Projects, Bari; and others. Has written for the art critic magazine A-Desk and the Catalan Music Magazine, among others. Since 2008 co-coordinates the sound pedagogy project Sons de Barcelona, initiated by the Music Technology Group of Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona.
